Security Assessor – AWS Hardware Supply Chain Security

About the role

As a Security Assessor for AWS Hardware Supply Chain Security, you will protect the end‑to‑end hardware lifecycle, from third‑party suppliers to Amazon manufacturing and logistics operations. You will work globally with cross‑functional teams to assess risks, design mitigations, and continuously improve security controls.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical internal and external security assessments of hardware manufacturing facilities and logistics operations.
• Coordinate and conduct on‑site security assessments worldwide, gathering objective data on physical and digital controls.
• Develop and implement repeatable audit mechanisms, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies for hardware, firmware, and supply‑chain processes.
• Analyze emerging threats and contribute to new defense and response mechanisms.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and image source control.

Required profile

• Proven experience in semiconductor manufacturing, hardware/firmware analysis, or supply‑chain logistics.
• Strong understanding of physical facility security, transport security, and customs considerations.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, maintain high standards, and work with creativity and self‑direction.
• Willingness to travel 60%+ to supplier sites and Amazon facilities worldwide.
