Sea Logistics Operational Care Specialist

About the role

As a member of Kuehne+Nagel’s Freight Forwarding team, you will support sea‑based transport operations by handling bookings, generating export documentation, and coordinating with Customer Care Specialists to meet customer promises efficiently and in compliance with regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Create and complete shipment details in the internal transport management system, coordinating stakeholders and arranging transport according to customer commitments.
• Obtain dangerous goods (DG) approvals when required and escalate any discrepancies.
• Monitor and report carrier performance, ensuring high‑quality data for accurate customer reporting.
• Prepare consolidation files for container masters and verify shipping instructions against country regulations, export compliance, rates and routing.
• Issue all required documentation (e.g., BAL specimen, carrier OBL instructions, VGM, security filings, sales invoices) within 24 hours of departure.
• Share departure confirmations and deviations with Customer Care Leaders (CCLs) and release BAL B/L following financial guidelines.
• Maintain cost awareness by updating cost/revenue information promptly and supporting profit maximisation.
• Validate supplier invoices, resolve rate discrepancies, and assist in claims and dispute resolution.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a freight forwarding or sea‑logistics environment.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with capacity to work under pressure.
• Excellent time‑management skills and attention to detail.
