Safety Advisor - EHS Manager

About the role

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Safety Advisor (EHS Manager) in Taipei to organise and lead the EHS operations of new build and greenfield projects. The role takes responsibility for the overall safety success of the projects by setting targets, supervising the project general contractor and subcontractors and making sure they are achieved. Effective candidates manage diverse operations from a distance, with a strategic mindset and strong leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Establish the general project EHS strategy and plan, and set reasonable EHS goals and management systems and procedures
• Ensure the EHS plan complies with EHS requirements and follow up on targets during execution
• Implement a zero-harm concept and zero-incident strategy, including the required documentation
• Set up work instructions and risk assessments, including protective and preventive measures
• Monitor the availability of required training and certificates and ensure adherence to language requirements
• Organise, collect and report observations of near misses, accidents, incidents and deviations from agreed standards
• Manage construction site EHS under the supervision of the T&T project manager or client, and enforce applicable health and safety regulations on site

Required profile

• At least 7 years of experience; office building and new build experience preferred
• EHS certificate required
• Fluent English, spoken and written
• Excellent communication, organisation and leadership abilities, strong business sense and problem-solving skills

Required skills

• Knowledge of EHS performance evaluation metrics and principles
• Understanding of optimising project operations and standards
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
