Python Developer – Media Lab (YouTube Lab)

About the role

We are seeking a Python Developer to implement and maintain a global, cloud‑based automation framework, backend services, and RESTful APIs for our Media Lab (YouTube Lab). The role involves building high‑performance ETL pipelines, integrating golden devices, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain the global lab cloud‑based automation framework, backend services, and RESTful APIs.
• Develop multiprocessing or distributed services and tune platform performance.
• Build high‑performance ETL data pipelines to ingest and analyze massive testing results.
• Work closely with device partners to set up and integrate golden devices with the automation system.
• Analyze video streaming products and triage system performance bottlenecks.
• Write well‑designed, testable, and scalable microservices or utilities.
• Collaborate with global cross‑functional product teams to develop platform services.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Backend Developer, or Test Infrastructure Engineer.
• Proven experience designing and implementing cloud services, RESTful APIs, and data/testing pipelines.
• Ability to develop high‑quality software in Python (required) and optionally JavaScript.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
