Project Manager

About the role

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex, global projects that drive business growth and customer satisfaction. You will work in a collaborative, multinational environment where your expertise in project delivery and stakeholder management will be highly valued.

Key responsibilities

• Define project scope, objectives and deliverables in partnership with senior management and key stakeholders.
• Develop detailed project plans, including work breakdown structures, schedules and resource allocation.
• Manage project budgets, track expenses and ensure financial targets are met.
• Lead and motivate cross‑functional project teams, fostering a productive and collaborative atmosphere.
• Identify, assess and mitigate risks, creating contingency plans as needed.
• Communicate status, progress and issues to stakeholders through regular reports and presentations.
• Ensure compliance with Hitachi’s project management methodologies, quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee vendor relationships and contracts, coordinating external contributions.
• Conduct post‑project reviews and lessons‑learned sessions to drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• PMP or PRINCE2 certification is highly preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive project management experience, preferably in a large‑scale or multinational organization.
• Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proven capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
• Fluency in English; Japanese proficiency is a significant advantage.
