Product Engineer - RAPID

About the role

KLA, which makes inspection tools, metrology systems and process solutions for electronics, is hiring a Product Engineer for its RAPID product line in Hsinchu. The role sits within the KLA Services team, which provides installation services and 24/7 technical support and parts delivery for customers' KLA assets. The engineer acts as the central technical resource across the product life cycle, working with design engineering, manufacturing, quality, marketing and field teams.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the technical interface with design engineering, manufacturing, technical support, quality, marketing and field as products move through the product life cycle.
• Optimize serviceability, cost of service and availability, and improve product service performance.
• Drive continuous improvement of hardware, diagnostics and software, tooling, technical documentation, knowledge management and training.
• Influence sustaining product designs to optimize service business aspects such as calibrations, diagnostics, cost of service, reliability, design tolerances and IP protection.
• Participate in beta and sustaining escalation efforts, analyze data and produce action plans usable by Customer Service Engineers and Technical Support Engineers.
• Act as system expert between Technical Support Engineers and Design Engineers, drive technical proof of concepts and standardize product serviceability.
• Share knowledge across the Technical Support organization through training, scripts, coaching and documents, and contribute technical reports.
• Assist field service requests, define feature request requirements, and perform hands-on integration and serviceability validation of beta systems or subsystems.
• Work with Learning and Knowledge Services to define training needs for new products and upgrades, train the trainer, teach or co-teach initial courses and audit training quality.

Required profile

• Preferred: hands-on experience with EUV tools or semiconductor processing equipment; reticle equipment experience highly preferred.
• Track record of solving complex problems requiring in-depth analysis of situations or data.
• Results-oriented, with strong analytic and data analysis skills and excellent oral and written communication.
• Able to work efficiently in multidisciplinary, multicultural teams and take a leadership role when needed.
• Background developing and delivering remote technical training using virtual reality, augmented reality and video.
• Qualifications: doctorate with 0 years of related experience, master's degree with 3 years, or bachelor's degree with 5 years of related experience.
