About the role
As a Manufacturing Technician at Applied Materials you will work hands‑on in a cleanroom environment building, repairing and testing multimillion‑dollar display and wafer‑fabrication equipment. You will be responsible for assembling and validating electrical, electro‑mechanical, vacuum and pneumatic components that are critical to the semiconductor and advanced‑display industry.
Key responsibilities
- Interpret work orders, schematics, wiring diagrams and parts lists to assemble, repair and test equipment.
- Perform electro‑mechanical assembly operations, troubleshooting and repairs on sub‑assemblies and components.
- Conduct parts audits, inspect for defects and ensure availability of required components.
- Use test fixtures, electronic measurement tools, leak detectors and vacuum pumps to verify functionality.
- Document progress, labor and expenses; enter data into company systems.
- Execute computer programming, software installations or firmware updates as needed.
- Work independently with minimal supervision and act as an informal resource for junior colleagues.
Required profile
- Associate’s degree or equivalent.
- 2–4 years of experience in semiconductor, display or related manufacturing environments, or comparable industry or military experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in a cleanroom setting.
Required skills
- Electro‑mechanical assembly and troubleshooting.
- Use of test fixtures, electronic measurement equipment, leak detectors and vacuum pumps.
- Parts audit and defect inspection.
- Data entry and documentation.
- Computer programming, software installation and firmware updates.
