Process R&D Engineer – Display Manufacturing

About the role

As a Process R&D Engineer focusing on display technologies, you will design, optimize and troubleshoot manufacturing processes for advanced semiconductor and display equipment at Applied Materials in Tainan.

Key responsibilities

• Design experiments, collect and analyze data, and compile detailed reports on complex process engineering studies.
• Perform hardware characterization on challenging systems and conduct root‑cause analysis to resolve process issues.
• Measure film properties, interpret results, and generate internal documentation, presentations and technical reports.
• Engage with customers to address technical concerns and collaborate with vendors and suppliers on new technology implementation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering field.
• 4–7 years of relevant experience in process engineering or R&D.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems independently.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with CVD, ALD and PVD processes (preferred).
• Familiarity with smart tools, smart sensors and AI/ML modeling (preferred).
• Strong data analysis and hardware characterization capabilities.
