Legal Project Manager – Cross‑Border Dispute Specialist

About the role
We are looking for a Legal Project Manager to lead complex, cross‑border legal disputes affecting our manufacturing operations in Taiwan and the United States. The role will oversee end‑to‑end case management, coordinate external counsel, direct e‑Discovery efforts, control budgets, and conduct contract risk reviews.
Key responsibilities
- Manage civil, criminal, arbitration, product liability, supply‑chain and IP disputes as structured projects, creating case maps, timelines, budgets and KPIs.
- Appoint and supervise external counsel in Taiwan and the US, ensuring strategic alignment and cost‑effectiveness.
- Plan and execute e‑Discovery and evidence‑preservation processes, including litigation holds and data collection, in compliance with data‑transfer regulations.
- Handle procedural matters such as jurisdiction issues, protective orders and subpoenas.
- Develop legal response plans for product defects, recalls, warranty claims and supply interruptions.
- Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing and operations on IP and trade‑secret matters, assessing infringement and gathering evidence.
- Conduct non‑negotiation contract reviews focused on risk control and enforceability of dispute‑related clauses.
- Facilitate cross‑functional decision‑making with Legal, Finance, Procurement and other departments.
- Maintain a knowledge base of judgments and precedents and support meetings across time zones, including occasional short‑term travel.
Required profile
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a corporate legal department or law firm, with at least 3 years of hands‑on litigation or dispute‑resolution project management.
- Proven track record managing cross‑border cases (Taiwan/US) and familiarity with civil litigation, arbitration and e‑Discovery workflows.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin (written and spoken).
- Strong project‑management, crisis‑management and precise legal‑writing abilities.
- Experience in manufacturing sectors such as semiconductor, electronics or automotive components is highly preferred.
- Admission to the US or Taiwan bar is a plus.
