IT Software Engineer - MES Systems

About the role

Micron Technology is hiring an IT Software Engineer for its Fab 11 site in Taoyuan. The engineer configures, develops, maintains and supports Micron and third-party applications, creates and analyzes software specifications, and works through the full software development life cycle. The role involves MES systems that schedule, track, manage and report on products produced at Micron's worldwide fabs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, troubleshoot and support software systems for manufacturing semiconductors
• Work with customers to understand their needs and suggest solutions to production and process issues
• Collaborate worldwide on gathering and evaluating customer requirements and specifications
• Provide incident and problem management for MES systems and technical support to customers
• Train customers and support staff on applications, tools and new features
• Take part in testing of new software releases across sites
• Track and report system performance indices and recommend improvements
• Maintain relationships with customers, developers and infrastructure teams, and keep stakeholders informed
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• Experience developing and/or managing software applications
• Strong problem-solving skills, multitasking and initiative
• Willingness to work flexible schedules, including day/night shifts, overtime and occasional weekends, and domestic travel
• Fresh graduates are welcome to apply

Required skills

• Database technologies such as Microsoft SQL, Oracle or similar, with performance tuning knowledge
• Linux, Unix and Windows environments
• C# or C++ and Perl scripting, with working knowledge of SQL or PL/SQL
• Knowledge of MES systems and understanding of semiconductor manufacturing is an advantage
