Field Service Engineer – Semiconductor Equipment

About the role

MKS is looking for a Field Service Engineer to join its Rapid Support Team in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The engineer provides on-site technical support, installations, troubleshooting, training, service and repair of complex equipment and systems, including Liquid and Dry Ozone and Residual Gas Analyzer (RGA) products for TSMC and other key accounts.

Key responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, servicing and repair of complex equipment and systems, and check and approve the operational quality of system equipment.
• Instruct customers on the operation and maintenance of the system and act as company liaison on administrative and technical matters.
• Learn and follow MKS internal systems, processes and procedures, especially Customer Support service guidelines.
• Carry out professional on-site or remote support, close service calls and perform quality installations, preventive maintenance and scheduled troubleshooting.
• Make sound decisions on tools and methods to solve technical problems, and escalate issues promptly to the direct manager with weekly reports.
• Manage spare parts effectively and share product knowledge and experience with colleagues.
• Communicate customer needs and competitor activity to management and take on additional assignments as required.
• Work as a team across divisions, product lines and departments.

Required profile

• Typically 2 to 4 years of related experience, including at least 2 years in the semiconductor industry or in vacuum or wet etching equipment service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-tech environment and in a semiconductor clean room.
• Integrity, strong business, analytic, interpersonal and communication skills, and a proactive, customer-focused approach.

Required skills

• Excellent phone and computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of semiconductor equipment such as ozone analyzers and residual gas analyzers.
