Engineering Manager – Hotel Operations

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the maintenance and engineering team at Hyatt Centric East Taipei, ensuring the hotel’s facilities operate safely and efficiently. The role combines hands‑on technical oversight with staff leadership and cost‑optimisation responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
• Ensure timely repairs of guest rooms, public areas, and back‑of‑house facilities.
• Implement preventive maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
• Supervise engineering staff, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
• Provide training on safety procedures and technical skills.
• Ensure compliance with local building codes, fire safety, and health regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections and risk assessments.
• Monitor utility consumption and drive energy‑saving initiatives.
• Manage departmental budgets and procure spare parts.
• Coordinate with other departments for maintenance needs and support event setups.

Required profile

• Degree or diploma in Engineering, Facilities Management or a related field.
• 5–7 years of hotel engineering or facilities management experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage emergencies effectively.
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Familiarity with Property Management Systems (PMS).
• Technical knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
