Director, Legal Counsel – Taiwan

About the role

As the Director, Legal Counsel for KLA in Taiwan, you will provide strategic legal guidance to support the company’s objectives across commercial, employment and intellectual property matters. You will act as the primary legal partner for business units, ensuring compliance and mitigating risk in a highly technical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of KLA’s goals and challenges in Taiwan and align legal strategies accordingly.
• Establish credibility with technically sophisticated business teams and serve as the on‑site legal presence.
• Identify, analyze and assess complex contractual risks and devise solutions for prompt resolution.
• Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial and technology agreements, including sales, procurement, joint development, licensing, NDAs, government contracts and strategic collaborations.
• Collaborate with Human Resources and the Global Employment Law team on day‑to‑day labor issues and strategic employment initiatives.
• Manage litigation and external disputes independently or in partnership with external counsel.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in corporate, commercial, employment and intellectual property law.
• Proven ability to work with senior technical and business stakeholders.
• Strong judgment and creativity in resolving legal issues.
