Customer Service Engineer - Semiconductor Equipment

About the role

KLA, a global leader in electronics for the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem, is hiring a Customer Service Engineer in Taichung. You will support advanced semiconductor inspection systems by working hands-on with high-precision equipment, collaborating with regional and global teams and helping customers keep their manufacturing operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose complex semiconductor equipment, analyzing and resolving technical issues
• Perform preventive maintenance, repairs and part replacements to minimize downtime
• Understand the interaction between mechanical, electrical and software systems
• Collaborate with Applications Engineers, Installation Engineers and Technical Support Engineers
• Provide timely, professional support to customers and build long-term relationships
• Prepare service reports, document equipment status and analyze system logs and performance data to recommend improvements
• Take part in internal and customer training programs
• Travel to customer sites for installations, upgrades, training or urgent support
• Manage RMA processes for returns, exchanges and repairs
• Follow safety protocols and comply with company and customer standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in science or engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or related semiconductor disciplines)
• Comfortable using English for technical presentations, documentation and reporting
• Prior experience in technical support or troubleshooting is a plus; new graduates are welcome, with on-the-job training provided
• Analytical, proactive, fast learner and team player interested in semiconductor technology

Required skills

• Experience with complex hardware/software-integrated systems, testing and troubleshooting is a plus
• Ability to interpret machine data and reports to find root causes
