Customer Quality Engineer

About the role

Air Products is seeking a Customer Quality Engineer to act as the primary quality governance owner for electronic customers. You will partner closely with the Commercial team, translating customer quality requirements into internal expectations while ensuring alignment with company standards and risk frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the quality governance owner and main interface for electronic customers.
• Translate customer quality requirements into internal expectations, aligning with company standards and risk boundaries.
• Support Commercial‑led customer interactions by providing quality positions, technical clarification, and risk‑based recommendations.
• Lead and own customer quality meetings, ensuring clear messaging and follow‑up of agreed actions.
• Lead the response process for OCAP events, coordinate corrective actions, and manage RCA/8D investigations.
• Coordinate quality notifications, define escalation criteria, and ensure timely stakeholder involvement.
• Review and manage customer quality documentation (PCN/SCN, calibration, MSA, specifications, agreements).
• Coordinate customer quality audits and follow‑up on corrective actions.
• Maintain effective interfaces between customer requirements and internal quality systems.
• Identify recurring quality issues and drive continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in quality governance and customer quality interfaces.
• Strong understanding of risk‑based decision making and quality standards.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional meetings and manage corrective‑action processes.
• Experience with OCAP events, RCA, 8D problem solving, and quality audits.
• Familiarity with managing quality documentation such as PCN, SCN, calibration and MSA inquiries.
