Backend Developer – UniFi Identity

About the role

As a member of the UniFi Identity team at Ubiquiti, you will design and build backend services that power user and administrator management for our networking products. You will work in a fast‑paced, innovation‑driven environment, delivering secure and scalable solutions that shape the future of connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services for UniFi Identity’s user and administrator management systems.
• Implement secure RESTful APIs for authentication, authorization, account provisioning, and device interaction.
• Build backend components for secure login, session management, and device trust.
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, security, and cloud teams to deliver end‑to‑end functionality.
• Maintain and evolve data models for identity, roles, permissions, and audit logs using relational databases.
• Ensure backend systems meet high standards for security, privacy, and compliance.
• Monitor and improve system performance, scalability, and resilience.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical discussions.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience developing backend systems in production.
• Strong experience with Golang.
• Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including schema design and query optimization.
• Solid understanding of authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth2, OIDC, SSO, RBAC).
• Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
