Associate Corporate Counsel – APAC (Taipei)

About the role

Trend Micro is looking for an Associate Corporate Counsel to join the TrendLife legal team in Taipei. The attorney will act as the primary legal partner for TrendLife’s Taiwan and broader APAC operations, handling product counseling, consumer terms, privacy support, and regional compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements such as vendor, reseller, channel, retail, marketing partnership, data‑processing and SaaS/cloud contracts.
• Maintain and improve contract templates, fallback positions and negotiation playbooks to streamline deal cycles.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal support to product and engineering teams on feature development, launches and go‑to‑market reviews across APAC.
• Create and maintain consumer‑facing product terms, including EULAs, Terms of Service, subscription terms and in‑app consent flows.
• Advise on subscription, auto‑renewal, cancellation, pricing and promotion requirements, coordinating with US counsel and local experts as needed.
• Handle privacy matters for Taiwan and assigned APAC markets, including notices, consent mechanisms, data‑processing reviews and data‑subject rights workflows.
• Collaborate with product, security and engineering on product‑security regulations, cybersecurity representations and incident response.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in corporate, technology and consumer‑product law.
• Proven ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, cross‑regional environment.
• Strong commercial acumen and ability to balance legal risk with business speed.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of privacy frameworks such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and Taiwan data‑protection regulations.
• Experience drafting and negotiating SaaS, cloud and commercial contracts.
• Familiarity with consumer‑protection requirements for subscription and e‑commerce models.
