Technical Trainer – PDC Application

About the role

Applied Materials seeks a Technical Trainer to deliver specialized PDC (Process Diagnostic Center) application training to internal teams and customers worldwide. The role combines deep product knowledge with instructional expertise to ensure trainees achieve certification and can operate equipment safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Design, deliver, and assess customized technical training courses on PDC applications at the company site and customer locations, requiring domestic and international travel.
• Maintain up‑to‑date product knowledge, create supplemental documentation, and certify trainees on multiple platforms and safety modules.
• Apply Instructional System Design (ISD) principles to develop course materials, evaluate instructor performance, and approve course designs.
• Provide technical troubleshooting support for training systems, ensuring all safety retrofits are installed and functional.
• Communicate training offerings to customers, support relationship building, and identify future training opportunities based on customer feedback.

Required profile

• Experience as a Process Support Engineer (PSE) or within a Process Diagnostic Center (PDC) environment.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, including occasional off‑shift or weekend sessions.
• Strong ability to convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Required skills

• Instructional System Design (ISD) and course development.
• Technical training delivery for semiconductor equipment.
• Troubleshooting and maintenance of PDC training systems.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and certification processes.
