Supplier Quality Engineer – Sustaining

About the role

Skydio is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to strengthen its supplier base and ensure high‑quality production of sophisticated electromechanical systems. You will collaborate with product design, manufacturing, supply chain and quality teams while interfacing directly with current and potential suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct supplier assessments and on‑site audits to verify quality systems and capabilities.
• Partner with manufacturing and design engineers during hardware product development to define manufacturing processes and quality plans.
• Perform First Article Inspections and surveillance audits to ensure compliance with design and quality requirements.
• Lead quality planning activities, including pre‑ and post‑production reviews, 8D and SCAR investigations.
• Maintain and analyze supplier scorecards to drive continuous improvement toward zero defects.

Required profile

• Self‑starter with strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
• Experience establishing and managing suppliers domestically and internationally.
• Background in high‑volume, high‑complexity consumer electronics or automotive quality engineering.
• In‑depth knowledge of manufacturing processes such as metal casting, sheet‑metal forming, injection molding, composites, coating, displays, cameras, and wiring harnesses.
• Proficiency with GD&T and complex engineering drawings.
