Sr. IT Engineer

About the role

Supermicro is seeking a senior IT engineer to support global IT operations and infrastructure. The role involves maintaining critical server, email, and virtualization platforms while ensuring security, reliability, and compliance across Windows and Linux environments.

Key responsibilities

• Administer internal license servers, monitor services, troubleshoot issues, and manage user access.
• Manage server patch management platforms, including planning, testing, deployment, exception handling, and compliance tracking for Windows and Linux servers.
• Support and maintain Microsoft 365/Exchange Online, mail flow, spam filtering, distribution groups, and related troubleshooting.
• Perform overall server administration for Windows Server and Linux Server, covering system monitoring, incident response, access control, capacity checks, backup verification, and routine maintenance.
• Evaluate and implement infrastructure solutions such as storage, backup, virtualization, and software‑defined storage.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, operation procedures, system records, and change logs.
• Participate in IT infrastructure improvement projects, proof‑of‑concept testing, risk assessment, and technical evaluation of new solutions.

Required profile

• Hands‑on experience with Windows Server administration (Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, file permissions, services, monitoring).
• Strong background in Linux server administration, including services, storage, networking, patching, and log analysis.
• Experience with virtualization platforms (Proxmox VE, VMware, Hyper‑V) and software‑defined storage (Ceph, CephFS, RBD, OSD).
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365/Exchange administration, mailbox management, and email flow troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of patch management tools (Ivanti Cloud, WSUS, SCCM, Ansible) and privileged access solutions (Thycotic or similar).
• Ability to script/automate tasks using PowerShell, Shell scripts, Ansible, or similar tools.
