Sr. Director, AI Engineering (Semi/Chemical)

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional senior leader to create and scale a global Digital Design & Material Innovation Center. Reporting at the executive level, you will align cutting‑edge computational science with R&D and manufacturing across multiple regions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and execute the global strategy, governance, and operating model for the Center.
• Build and mentor a high‑performing, distributed team of FEM/CFD engineers, atomistic/molecular scientists, AI/ML engineers, and digital scientists.
• Establish enterprise‑wide standards for modeling, simulation, validation, and data management.
• Drive portfolio and investment decisions for compute infrastructure, cloud/HPC platforms, IP protection, and data platforms.
• Partner with C‑level Digital & IT leaders to ensure secure, scalable machine‑learning and modeling stacks.
• Forge strategic partnerships with universities, research consortia, and industry groups.

Required profile

• Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Computational Science, Materials Science, Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in simulation, computational engineering, or R&D digital transformation.
• At least 5 years in a senior executive role leading multidisciplinary technical teams.
• Strong domain expertise in semiconductor, chemical, or advanced materials engineering.
