Senior Software Engineer – IoT Application Development

About the role

West is seeking a senior software engineer to lead backend development for Internet of Things (IoT) applications in the health, medical device, and digital manufacturing sectors. You will design, build, and maintain highly available, secure, and scalable systems that connect IoT devices to cloud platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to translate business needs into technical designs.
• Execute full‑lifecycle software development, ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
• Write clean, self‑documented, testable, performant, and secure code.
• Design and implement new features, participating in frequent stakeholder reviews.
• Research emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
• Contribute to standards, tooling, and process improvements.
• Develop prototypes to explore innovative ideas.
• Participate in cross‑team technical discussions, daily stand‑ups, and code reviews.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or higher).
• Minimum 5 years of professional software development experience.
• Experience in regulated environments such as medical devices or GMP‑controlled manufacturing.
• Proven ability to work in a global, virtual team setting.
