Senior Operations Manager – Manufacturing Plant (Guanyin, Taiwan)

About the role

The Plant Site Head oversees day‑to‑day operations of MKS Atotech’s manufacturing facility in Guanyin, Taiwan. Reporting to the Senior Director Operations, Asia, the role is responsible for staff management, process optimisation, production targets, quality, customer service, safety, compliance and overall efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead daily operations across Production, Quality Control, Supply Chain (inventory, warehousing, customer service, logistics), maintenance, wastewater treatment, HSE and 5S.
• Drive cost efficiency for plant operations.
• Collect and analyse operational data to implement improvements and modifications.
• Collaborate with other group entities and sites to ensure efficient operations.
• Improve customer service by leading QA and service teams to resolve product quality or complaint issues.
• Establish best practices, standards and continuous‑improvement initiatives in operations and supply chain.
• Ensure plant equipment operates to specifications and capacity.
• Foster a positive, high‑performance work environment and set performance standards.
• Coach, develop and sustain a high‑performance team.

Required profile

• Minimum 15 years of manufacturing experience in chemical or process industries.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Production, Mechanical or related engineering; business management qualification preferred.
• Technical acumen to independently run a manufacturing operations site.
• Leadership and management capability to achieve results through cross‑functional collaboration.
• Ability to drive cultural change in safety, occupational health and environmental matters.
• Knowledge of continuous‑improvement practices, LEAN/6σ and structured problem‑solving tools.
• Working knowledge of SAP or similar manufacturing ERP systems.
• Strong team‑working, problem‑solving and analytical skills; ability to prioritise multiple issues.
• Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and business communication; fluent in spoken and written English.
