Senior Hardware Design Engineer

About the role

Celestica is seeking a Senior Hardware Design Engineer to lead the development of advanced electrical systems and circuits for a variety of applications. The role involves research, design, testing, and support throughout manufacturing, working closely with cross‑functional teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of complex electrical solutions across multiple domains.
• Participate in project planning, scheduling, and deployment strategy creation.
• Provide technical leadership to a sizable engineering team and act as a go‑to expert in key technical areas.
• Interpret customer requirements, create schematics, bills of material, diagrams, and drawings.
• Conduct testing, simulation, measurement, and troubleshooting of system performance.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with suppliers, vendors, customers, and internal teams to ensure robust product development.
• Generate reports, minutes, and project updates.

Required profile

• 7 to 10 years of experience in electrical or hardware design engineering.
• Proven ability to lead technical projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience managing non‑technical project elements such as budgeting and scheduling.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and work in a standard office environment.

Required skills

• Electrical system design and schematic capture.
• Creation of Bills of Material (BOM), diagrams, and technical drawings.
• Testing, simulation, and troubleshooting of hardware prototypes.
• Data analysis and interpretation for design validation.
• Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
