Product Developer – System Software Development

About the role

Synology is seeking a Product Developer to join its core development team responsible for the DSM operating system. You will work on building a robust, secure, and high‑performance OS foundation that powers millions of data‑storage and networking devices worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain critical DSM subsystems, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Tackle large‑scale distributed system challenges and OS‑level integration.
• Develop authentication and authorization frameworks (e.g., OAuth 2.0, OIDC) and implement access‑management mechanisms.
• Create reliable system‑upgrade mechanisms with rollback support and integrate with Linux components such as systemd.
• Build and maintain the DSM web framework using Vue and develop backend services and APIs.
• Design and optimise CI/CD pipelines, improve release reliability, and ensure software supply‑chain security.

Required profile

• Experience in system or cloud administration.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and Python or Go.
• Familiarity with system programming in Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and problem‑solving.
• Good communication skills.
