Mechanical Engineer Supervisor – High-Speed Connectors

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer Supervisor to lead the design of high‑speed connector and cage solutions for big‑data and hyperscale customers. The role sits within the New Product Development team of Molex’s Datacom & Specialty Solutions division and works closely with cross‑functional partners to bring innovative products to market.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with signal‑integrity, manufacturing integration, program management, sales and senior leadership teams to define product requirements.
• Create and modify 3D models, detailed drawings and bills of materials using CAD tools.
• Perform mechanical design analysis, simulations and testing, and generate test reports to validate product performance.
• Support manufacturing and quality assurance during product launches, including travel to global production sites.
• Drive the product development process, ensure timely market entry, and work with sales and marketing to resolve customer engineering issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 8+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Proven project leadership experience of at least 2 years, preferably in connector, sheet‑metal, light‑pipe or thermal‑solution design.
• Experience designing molds and dies, and familiarity with patent filing processes.

Required skills

• Proficiency with 3D/2D CAD tools such as NX (preferred), Creo, SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, DFM and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Understanding of molding, stamping, PCB, plating and assembly processes.
