Mechanical Engineer – Advisory

About the role

Lenovo is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support advisory projects, focusing on system placement, mechanical design, and development schedule control. The role involves responding to new project RFQs and delivering detailed design proposals.

Key responsibilities

• Respond to new project RFQs and create system placement and mechanical design proposals.
• Develop detailed system and chassis designs using CAD and produce 2D drawings for tooling and mass production.
• Collaborate with product development teams on material selection, part design, and manufacturing feasibility.
• Perform failure analysis, tolerance analysis, and evaluate solutions.
• Assist shock‑vibration engineers with testing and conduct mechanical‑related tests.
• Generate PCBA DXF files, mechanical BOMs, and manage EC documentation.

Required profile

• Experience with mechanical design and system placement.
• Ability to control development schedules and review costs.
• Proficiency in handling RFQ feedback and cost review processes.

Required skills

• CAD software for 3D and 2D design.
• Creation of 2D drawings for tooling.
• Tolerance analysis.
