MBIST Diagnostics Engineer - Sr Staff/Staff Engineer

About the role

We are looking for an experienced MBIST Diagnostics Engineer to lead the development of advanced memory diagnostic methodologies and tools for next‑generation System‑on‑Chip (SoC) products. The role focuses on DRAM testing, failure analysis, and AI/ML‑based pattern recognition to boost memory yield and reliability in high‑volume manufacturing.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and enhance DRAM‑specific diagnostic methodologies and memory test/repair algorithms (BIRA, ECC, redundancy analysis).
• Isolate failing memory locations, analyze failure signatures and support yield improvement, RMA and HTOL debug.
• Design AI/ML‑based pattern‑recognition tools for advanced bit‑mapping and failure characterization.
• Collaborate with silicon validation, product engineering and yield analysis teams to correlate diagnostics with silicon behavior.
• Drive innovation in diagnostic algorithms and tool development for future technology nodes and memory architectures.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years (BSc), 3+ years (MSc) or 2+ years (PhD) of hardware engineering experience.
• 8+ years of experience in memory diagnostics, DRAM testing and failure analysis in advanced SoC environments.
• Proven experience developing diagnostic tools for emerging memory technologies and large‑scale data analytics.

Required skills

• Python, Perl, TCL scripting.
• Data visualization and analytics tools.
• AI/ML techniques applied to pattern recognition or yield analysis.
• Mentor Tessent, Synopsys (or equivalent) MBIST implementation tools.
• HTOL, RMA debug, high‑volume manufacturing diagnostics.
• Knowledge of memory redundancy, ECC, self‑repair mechanisms and fault‑isolation models.
