Financial Accountant (Retail)

About the role

Coupang is expanding its operations in Taiwan and is looking for a detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join its Revenue and Inventory Accounting team. The role supports core accounting, settlements and operational processes of the retail business, such as cost accounting, inventory analysis, invoice processing, AP management and vendor funding. It works closely with FP&A, Brand Management, Global Sourcing, Fulfillment Center, Marketing and Customer Service, with a focus on operational efficiency, alignment with group accounting policies, regulatory compliance and a good user experience.

Key responsibilities

• Help manage the timeliness and accuracy of inventory cost recognition and support multi-dimensional cost analysis.
• Take part in the end-to-end procure-to-pay process, including AP approval, invoice validation and reconciliation, vendor settlement and payment terms.
• Identify process gaps, redesign workflows and help write SOPs, guidelines and training materials; discuss system requests with IT and support testing and data validation.
• Ensure transaction records conform to accounting standards and support tax and regulatory compliance and internal control documentation and testing.
• Run the monthly close, prepare financial statement packages, gather evidence for auditors, tax authorities and regulators, and help prepare financial disclosures and filings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3-7 years of accounting, audit or tax experience, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Fluent English and Mandarin, with strong communication and cross-functional skills.
• Attention to detail, analytical thinking and ability to manage several deadlines independently.
• Experience working with external auditors and tax consultants, and familiarity with financial statement preparation and local and international tax rules.
• Familiarity with the SOX compliance framework.
