Finance / OPEX Controller

About the role

We are seeking a Finance / OPEX Controller to join our finance team in Taiwan, supporting the financial management of offshore wind development and operational activities. You will work closely with project, engineering, procurement, commercial and leadership teams to ensure robust financial governance and informed decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Review, monitor and control operational expenditures against approved budgets.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Prepare financial analyses, variance reports and management reporting packs, highlighting trends, risks and opportunities.
• Monitor actual spend versus budgets and forecasts, providing recommendations and corrective actions.
• Partner with engineering, construction, procurement, project management and commercial stakeholders to deliver financial insights.
• Analyse costs linked to engineering, construction, consultancy, service and supplier contracts.
• Support financial assessment of purchase‑based and service‑based agreements, ensuring contractual commitments are reflected in budgets.
• Coordinate month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including accruals, pre‑payments and cost allocations.
• Liaise with external accounting firms, auditors and tax advisors to ensure statutory, tax and reporting compliance.
• Support corporate governance, internal controls and compliance activities.
• Contribute to process improvements and the development of financial systems, reporting tools and controls.
• Assist management with ad‑hoc financial analyses, business cases and decision support.

Required profile

• Strong background in finance, budgeting and forecasting, preferably within the energy or infrastructure sector.
• Experience managing operational expenditures (OPEX) and coordinating month‑end/year‑end close.
• Proven ability to work cross‑functionally with engineering, procurement and commercial teams.
• Familiarity with external audit, tax and statutory reporting requirements.
• Analytical mindset with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.
