Data Scientist, Innovation Engineering Technology

About the role

As a Data Scientist at Micron Technology, you will leverage advanced techniques from mathematics, statistics, semiconductor physics, materials science, and information technology to uncover patterns in complex datasets. Your work will drive the development of predictive models, actionable insights, and innovative solutions that enhance business productivity.

Key responsibilities

• Advance AI libraries and algorithms by integrating domain expertise to create efficient, accurate tools that align AI capabilities with business needs.
• Support product engineering initiatives through root‑cause analysis, yield optimization, and increased engineer productivity.
• Analyze comprehensive datasets from front‑end and back‑end testing, including product and manufacturing outcomes.
• Design and implement software programs, algorithms, and automated workflows to clean, unify, and analyze large, diverse datasets.
• Conduct exploratory research and develop creative solutions that foster innovation and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Collaborate across teams to incorporate AI tools into engineering processes.
• Transform raw data into meaningful insights that inform decision‑making.
• Continuously explore new technologies and methodologies to improve data‑driven solutions.
• Familiarity with AI tools from Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI and ability to integrate them with big‑data environments.
• Solid experience in statistical modeling, feature extraction, and machine learning (supervised, unsupervised, semi‑supervised).
• Proficiency in extracting data from databases using SQL, applying data cleansing, outlier detection, and missing‑data handling techniques.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Exposure to the semiconductor industry is a plus but not required.
