Licensed Structural Engineer – Taiwan

About the role

Arup is seeking a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) specialized in structural engineering to join its Taiwan team. The role blends technical responsibility for project delivery with client‑facing and business development activities.

Key responsibilities

• Review engineering and planning drawings, calculations and technical documents for compliance with Taiwan regulations, codes and professional standards.
• Prepare and stamp drawings for permit submissions, authority approvals and statutory compliance.
• Advise internal teams on regulatory and code matters and coordinate with design teams to resolve technical issues before stamping.
• Support business development by providing technical input for proposals, attending client meetings and building relationships with clients, consultants and stakeholders.
• Identify new project opportunities and contribute to market expansion in Taiwan, with occasional travel as required.

Required profile

• Registered Professional Structural Engineer (高考結構技師) licensed under Taiwan’s Professional Engineers Act.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years after PE licensure.
• Proven experience reviewing drawings and compliance submissions prepared by internal or third‑party consultants.
• Strong Mandarin communication skills; working proficiency in English preferred.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of Taiwan building, planning, seismic and construction regulations.
• Ability to assess technical documents for code compliance and statutory requirements.
