Industrial Engineer – Semiconductor Process Improvement

About the role

Applied Materials seeks an experienced Industrial Engineer to lead complex productivity and efficiency projects in semiconductor manufacturing. You will apply Lean Operations, Six Sigma, and Operations Research methods to drive continuous improvement across fab operations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and participate in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research projects to improve semiconductor productivity.
• Conduct current‑state assessments, design and implement Lean and Six Sigma improvement initiatives.
• Train, mentor, and coach champions in Lean and Six Sigma tools.
• Perform productivity studies such as cycle‑time reduction, Gemba walks, and asset utilization analyses.
• Develop simulation models, value‑stream analyses, and cost, capacity, staffing, and cycle‑time models using Applied Materials software.
• Lead cost‑of‑ownership projects, quantify value of improvement initiatives, and create roadmaps with year‑over‑year targets.

Required profile

• 7+ years of experience in the semiconductor industry, with at least 3 years in continuous improvement.
• Recognized technical expert in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional project teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong problem‑solving skills, capable of developing innovative solutions with broad business impact.
