Data Center Operation Technician (IT Engineer)

About the role

As a Data Center Operation Technician (IT Engineer) you will join AWS Infrastructure Services, the team responsible for designing, delivering and operating the global AWS cloud infrastructure. You will work on‑site in an AWS data centre, providing 24/7 operational support to ensure continuous availability of servers, storage, networking, power and cooling systems for millions of customers.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in a 7 × 24 roster, providing on‑site incident response and hands‑on support.
• Perform break‑fix and troubleshooting activities following defined processes.
• Maintain media operations, capacity landing and decommissioning according to guidelines.
• Keep operation areas tidy and manage site‑level housekeeping.
• Identify and propose improvements to increase operational efficiency based on daily experience.

Required profile

• Willingness to work rotating shifts and respond to incidents at any time.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
• Experience working in a data‑center or similar high‑availability environment is a plus.

Required skills

• AWS cloud infrastructure knowledge.
• Data‑center hardware handling (servers, storage, networking equipment).
• Incident response and break‑fix troubleshooting.
• Capacity planning and equipment decommissioning procedures.
