Engineering Manager – Travel FX App

About the role

We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team that builds and scales the Travel FX application used by millions across Southeast Asia. The role combines people leadership, product ownership and deep technical involvement to deliver reliable, fast‑moving financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineers across frontend, backend and full‑stack domains.
• Own delivery for major product areas, ensuring rapid shipping without sacrificing reliability.
• Collaborate with product, design, mobile, backend and AI teams to translate ambiguous problems into clear technical execution.
• Define architecture and make decisions on APIs, databases, integrations, infrastructure and customer‑facing systems.
• Set engineering standards for code quality, testing, observability, security and production reliability.
• Mentor engineers through feedback, coaching and performance management, raising the team’s execution bar.
• Monitor production outcomes, resolve incidents and drive continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Strong software engineering background with experience shipping production systems.
• Proven experience leading or managing software engineers and owning delivery.
• Deep technical knowledge across backend, frontend, APIs, databases, distributed systems or cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to make sound architecture trade‑offs while balancing speed, scalability and maintainability.
• Track record of taking products from idea through launch and production.
• Comfort reviewing designs, challenging decisions and debugging complex production issues.
• People leadership skills to coach, manage performance and build high‑performing teams.
