Senior Accountant - Taipei

About the role

The Senior Accountant will manage day‑to‑day Accounts Payable operations and support General Ledger activities for a multinational retail organization in Taipei. The role ensures accurate financial records, timely payments, and smooth month‑end closing while collaborating with internal teams, vendors, auditors and regional finance partners.

Key responsibilities

• Process daily AP invoices, verify coding, obtain approvals and execute payment runs.
• Maintain vendor master data, perform statement reconciliations and resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Handle employee expense claims and reimbursements in accordance with company policies.
• Prepare and post month‑end journal entries, accruals, reclassifications and fixed‑asset accounting.
• Perform balance‑sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations and inter‑company confirmations.
• Support audit preparation by providing schedules and documentation.
• Provide ad‑hoc backup for Accounts Receivable, including sales and payment reconciliations.
• Identify and correct unusual postings, and suggest process improvements for accounting controls.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in retail, FMCG or multinational environments.
• Hands‑on experience with month‑end closing, account reconciliation and accrual processes.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication in both Mandarin and English with regional finance teams and external partners.
