Hardware Design Engineer - Board Product

About the role

Kandou is seeking a Hardware Design Engineer to design server motherboard systems that leverage its novel MIMO‑over‑copper signalling technology. The position involves end‑to‑end development from schematic capture through PCB layout, prototype builds and lab bring‑up in Taipei.

Key responsibilities

• Design hardware boards for server motherboard systems using Kandou signalling technology.
• Coordinate and drive work of internal contributors and external vendors.
• Define, develop and validate board hardware systems based on requirements.
• Provide on‑site support for board builds and early lab bring‑up, covering cradle‑to‑grave development.
• Prepare and communicate technical analyses and recommendations to internal teams and customers.
• Review board schematics, PCB layouts and provide feedback.
• Review signal integrity, power integrity, thermal and mechanical analyses of boards and systems.

Required profile

• 10+ years experience in computer server development, focusing on mainstream server motherboard designs to volume production.
• Experience with custom silicon‑based server systems is desired.
• 8+ years providing inputs to PCB CAD, power VRM design, SI/PI analysis, firmware engineering, and thermal/mechanical trade‑offs.
• 8+ years with key vendors in PCB fabrication, connectors, passives, ICs and VRMs.
• Proven experience in board builds and lab bring‑ups, guiding engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Computer or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent); a Master’s degree is a plus.
