Deputy Director, Finance & Accounting

About the role

Photronics is seeking a Deputy Director, Finance & Accounting to strengthen financial operations at its Hsinchu site. The role blends hands‑on accounting, controllership, and FP&A to deliver accurate reporting, robust controls, and insightful analysis that support strategic decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Execute and oversee journal entries, reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, and monthly/quarterly/annual close, producing accurate financial statements and corporate reporting packages.
• Provide hands‑on oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, fixed assets, cost accounting, and cash management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, local statutory and tax requirements, and corporate policies; support SOX compliance and coordinate audits.
• Lead site budgeting, rolling forecasts, long‑range planning, and variance analysis of revenue, manufacturing costs, margins, inventory, and capital expenditures.
• Develop financial models, scenario analyses, and business cases for capacity planning and capital investments, translating results into management reports and presentations.
• Assess and improve accounting, reporting, and planning processes; partner with Finance and IT on Oracle ERP and EPM system enhancements, automation, and user acceptance testing.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience in a multinational environment, including at least 3 years in manufacturing.
• Proven experience in general ledger accounting, close, financial reporting, internal controls, statutory reporting, and audit coordination.
• Strong FP&A background with budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to manage, coach, and develop finance professionals while remaining effective as an individual contributor.

Required skills

• Oracle ERP system proficiency.
• Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) systems experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex formulas and data analysis.
• Financial modeling and scenario analysis capabilities.
