Test Hardware Engineer

About the role

Semtech is hiring a Test Hardware Engineer based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, to own the maintenance, troubleshooting and lifecycle management of test hardware used in wafer sort across OSAT partners. The role also covers bringing up new hardware, standardizing procedures, resolving hardware issues and supporting the Asia test engineering team.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and manage the lifecycle of test hardware such as probe cards and membrane core assemblies, diagnosing membrane core and probing issues to minimize downtime and yield impact (30%)
• Support the bring-up and qualification of new test hardware and fixtures for wafer sort and final test, working with OSATs and BU engineering so hardware is ready for NPI and production ramp (20%)
• Develop and standardize maintenance procedures, work instructions and best practices, and drive their adoption across all Semtech test locations (15%)
• Act as the on-site technical resource for hardware excursions and failures, leading root-cause analysis and corrective and preventive actions with OSAT and BU engineering teams (15%)
• Manage test hardware spares inventory and repair/calibration cycles, and coordinate with suppliers and OSATs to keep critical tooling available (10%)
• Build documentation, training materials and knowledge resources to share expertise and build capability within the Asia test engineering team (10%)
