Staff Product Designer

About the role

Coupang is expanding in Taiwan and is looking for a Staff Product Designer to help lead its growth there. You will solve customer pain points in a rapidly changing business environment with a small team, owning the full product creation process from ideation to final development through design thinking. You will work with development, Product Manager, marketing, legal and HR teams and help set up projects, strategies, team culture and processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead overall design projects while communicating with Business, Engineering and Product teams.
• Proactively establish product vision and roadmap and play a strategic role in decision-making.
• Improve processes more efficiently through collaboration with other design leaders across Product UX teams.
• Identify and analyse problems in current products and services, set improvement priorities and assure design quality.

Required profile

• BA in Graphic Design, Interaction Design, Industrial Design, HCI, Computer Science, Psychology or equivalent degree/experience.
• 8+ years of experience in product design.
• Experience leading designers in team-level projects and building project strategy and deliverables.
• Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
• Proficiency in Mandarin and English.

Required skills

• Excellent portfolio of typography, interaction design, visual design and user research.
• Proficiency with Figma and Adobe tools.
• Preferred: launching projects from scratch using UX research insights, managing complex projects with stakeholders, and extensive knowledge of e-commerce.
