Staff Engineer – Mechanical Design

About the role

Celestica is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the design and development of mechanical systems and modules for high‑tech products. You will translate customer requirements into robust, manufacturable solutions and support the full product lifecycle from concept through production.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and implementation of complex mechanical solutions across multiple domains.
• Perform calculations, simulations, testing, validation and qualification of designs.
• Provide technical leadership to a sizable engineering team and coordinate with cross‑functional groups, suppliers and project leadership.
• Prepare detailed drawings, review customer specifications, and incorporate feedback from DFx, manufacturing, test, reliability and supply‑chain reviews.
• Support the manufacturing process, finalize designs and release production prints.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of hands‑on mechanical design experience, preferably with switch, server or storage hardware.
• Strong understanding of electronic product development processes.
• Proven ability to conceptualize, implement and validate system‑level designs.
