About the role
Google is looking for a software engineer to work on the Bluetooth stack of its open‑source operating system, Fuchsia. The role focuses on building a secure, reliable, and flexible Bluetooth implementation that supports multi‑device, multi‑user scenarios.
Key responsibilities
- Implement new Bluetooth profiles using Rust.
- Develop APIs that applications use to connect and communicate with Bluetooth devices.
- Integrate the Bluetooth stack with networking, media, and input layers.
- Participate in end‑to‑end integration and certification testing.
- Collaborate with Audio and other subsystem teams to add next‑generation capabilities such as Low Energy Audio.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, plus 2 years of software development experience (or 1 year with an advanced degree).
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field is preferred.
Required skills
- Proficiency in Rust and C++.
- Experience with Bluetooth or other wireless technologies and networking.
- Experience developing software systems across the full lifecycle.
