Site Manager, Customer Engineer – Long‑Term Assignment

About the role

Applied Materials is seeking a Site Manager to lead the Customer Support Engineering group for a two‑year assignment supporting the TSMC global account in Dresden, Germany. The role combines business strategy development, field service management, and direct customer interaction.

Key responsibilities

• Manage professional Customer Engineers for the TSMC global account, ensuring performance and results.
• Coach local managers and European Customer Engineers, fostering cross‑cultural communication and teamwork.
• Maintain customer relationships, conduct regular visits, and act as the primary interface with product divisions.
• Oversee financial forecasting, cost efficiency, and installation projects, including planning, reporting, and execution.
• Execute escalation procedures, RMA processes, and monitor key performance indicators such as clean‑desk compliance and engineer productivity.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of people‑management or leadership experience.
• At least 10 years of semiconductor industry experience, preferably with equipment supplier after‑sales service.
• Strong ability to build long‑term customer relationships.
• Fluent in English and Chinese communication.
