Senior/Staff Data Engineer (BI) – Customer Experience Group

About the role

Agoda is looking for a Senior or Staff Data Engineer to join the Customer Experience Group (CEG). You will design, build, and maintain the data and software foundations that enable CEG business users to serve customers and agents across all contact channels.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate scalable ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest, transform, and serve data from CEG systems such as case management, telephony, chat, bots, QA tools, WFM, and CRM.
• Collaborate with product, operations, analytics, WFM, DevOps, and engineering teams to deliver reliable data pipelines, scalable models, internal tools, and actionable insights.
• Switch between engineering tasks (pipeline development, data modeling, internal services, tooling, performance optimization) and analytics tasks (business questions, dashboards, deep‑dive analysis).
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both engineers and business stakeholders.
• At the Staff level, shape CEG’s data and tooling strategy, influence cross‑team architecture, and raise the overall engineering and data standards.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior‑level data engineer or staff‑level technical leader.
• Comfortable working on both engineering and analytical deliverables.
• Strong communication skills to interact with technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to influence architecture and drive data strategy across teams.
