Senior Layout Engineer

About the role

Flex is seeking a Senior Layout Engineer to lead PCB layout activities for power supply and energy storage projects at our Taipei Wugu site. The role involves delivering complete PCB designs that meet customer specifications while ensuring manufacturability and compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain accurate component libraries for PCB design.
• Execute the full layout workflow: schematic ECO, component placement, routing, Gerber generation, design panel creation, and documentation.
• Coordinate with PCB manufacturers to resolve engineering change (EQ) issues during production.
• Support factories in addressing DFM challenges to improve yield and productivity.
• Produce design panel drawings and final documentation for release.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience, including at least 5 years in power‑supply or energy‑storage product design.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
• Proven ability to work independently and communicate effectively across multiple departments.
• Flexibility to adjust work hours to meet project timelines.

Required skills

• Proficiency with PADS PCB design software.
• Strong knowledge of power‑layout design specifications, safety spacing regulations, and high‑speed signal routing.
• Experience creating component libraries and generating Gerber files.
• Understanding of DFM principles and ability to troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
