About the role
Applied Materials is seeking a Senior Design and Construction Manager to lead large‑scale capital construction projects across the Asia‑Pacific region. The role will oversee the full project lifecycle—from entitlement and design through construction, commissioning and hand‑over—supporting our semiconductor and display manufacturing facilities.
Key responsibilities
- Lead end‑to‑end delivery of multi‑million‑dollar capital projects in Korea, Japan, China, Singapore and other APAC sites.
- Provide on‑site project leadership, conduct regular site visits and coordinate with local contractors, authorities and vendors.
- Manage base‑build construction, including site development, structural systems, MEP infrastructure and architectural finishes for offices, R&D labs, manufacturing and light‑industrial spaces.
- Oversee design and construction of specialized facilities such as ISO‑class cleanrooms and semiconductor R&D labs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Integrate hazardous‑materials systems (chemical delivery, gas distribution, exhaust and abatement) in accordance with EHS and regional regulations.
- Navigate entitlement processes, permitting, zoning and environmental impact assessments with local governments.
- Act as primary liaison between local teams and Applied Materials’ global project leadership, aligning expectations across cultures and countries.
Required profile
- Extensive experience managing large‑scale capital construction projects in the semiconductor, electronics or advanced‑materials sectors.
- Proven ability to lead multi‑disciplinary teams across multiple APAC locations.
- Strong knowledge of regional entitlement, permitting and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills in English and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
