Purchasing Specialist

About the role

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for managing procurement, order fulfillment and logistics to support business demand, improve inventory turnover and ensure reliable supplier delivery. This role aligns purchasing activities with the company’s strategic and financial objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Execute purchase orders and oversee order status, ensuring accurate shipping and delivery data in internal systems.
• Maintain post‑PO updates, track backlogs and communicate progress with cross‑functional teams.
• Develop and manage supplier relationships, holding partners accountable for on‑time shipments and driving process improvements.
• Negotiate pricing and provide quotations to the sales team for customer opportunities.
• Coordinate with warehouse, logistics and transportation carriers to guarantee timely receipt and delivery of goods.
• Handle non‑conforming inventory, including disposition and in‑process failures.
• Provide regular order‑status updates to planners, sales and customer operations, and support issue resolution.
• Assist with inventory aging, fill‑rate management and stock rotation or liquidation as needed.
• Contribute to cross‑functional projects and supplier‑management initiatives.

Required profile

• Typically 3+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement or supply‑chain operations.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of procurement principles, order management and logistics processes.
• Ability to work independently, exercise judgment and collaborate across departments.
