Product Design Engineer

About the role

Snap Inc is seeking a Product Design Engineer to join the Spectacles team in Taiwan. You will be responsible for turning concepts into mass‑produced products, working closely with industrial design, operations, and cross‑functional engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design, prototype, and analyze new products and components from concept through mass production.
• Collaborate with industrial design, operations, and engineering teams to ensure manufacturability.
• Conduct failure analysis and implement corrective actions for design improvements.
• Support development builds onsite at external suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Create detailed design models and production documentation.
• Develop and run technical experiments to select designs, materials, and technologies.
• Lead and contribute to technical design reviews.
• Travel as needed to support build activities.

Required profile

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant industry experience.
• Strong engineering fundamentals with broad knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 3D CAD and 2D documentation.
• Experience with NX CAD software.
• Mechanical design of plastic and metal components.
• Design of printed circuit boards (PCB) and flexible printed circuits (FPC).
• Tolerance analysis.
• Design for manufacturing.
• Structural analysis.
• Materials selection and failure analysis.
