Procurement Director - Automation Categories

About the role

Coupang is looking for an experienced Procurement Director to lead strategic sourcing and supplier management for automation categories across its fulfillment and logistics network in Taiwan. The role covers warehouse automation, robotics, material handling equipment, sortation systems, industrial controls and related technology infrastructure, driving cost optimization, supplier innovation and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute multi-year category strategies for automation-related spend and build procurement roadmaps supporting network expansion.
• Manage procurement across robotics, ASRS, conveyor and sortation systems, warehouse control systems, industrial automation, sensors and related technologies.
• Lead high-value sourcing events, RFIs, RFPs, RFQs and contract negotiations, delivering savings and TCO improvements.
• Evaluate global and regional suppliers and drive supplier consolidation where appropriate.
• Establish executive-level supplier relationships, run performance reviews and manage supplier risk and capacity planning.
• Negotiate framework contracts, maintenance agreements and service-level commitments, working with Legal and Finance on compliance.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations on automation deployment projects and support capital expenditure planning.
• Lead and develop a category management team, set best practices and performance metrics, and foster a data-driven culture.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree with 15+ years of progressive procurement experience, including at least 7 years in infrastructure categories.
• Experience managing global teams and multi-region supplier portfolios.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and contract management expertise.
• Ability to represent the organization at an executive level.

Required skills

• Proficiency in procurement platforms such as SAP Ariba and Coupa.
• Data analytics tools.
