Principal, Trust and Safety Compliance

About the role

Coupang is expanding in Taiwan and is looking for a Principal, Trust and Safety Compliance to join its Trust and Safety team. The team curbs fraud and abuse to protect customers and sellers, develops policies and standards, and helps implement and monitor controls that identify and mitigate risks across the platform. It works with business and operations to design safer products and services, and reports fraud risks.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute the Trust and Safety strategy aligned with the company's compliance vision, staying up to date with industry trends and emerging threats
• Establish and update policies, guidelines and standards, ensuring compliance with laws, regulations and industry standards
• Implement systems and protocols to detect and prevent seller fraud, including counterfeits and IP infringement, using data-driven insights
• Collaborate with product, engineering, legal and customer support teams to embed trust and safety measures in the platform
• Oversee investigations of reported incidents and coordinate with relevant teams to resolve them
• Monitor and report trust and safety metrics and compliance performance to the executive team and stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement, with a focus on automation and systems development

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree preferred
• At least 10 years of experience in Trust and Safety, Risk Management, Fraud Controls or related fields
• Proven track record managing trust and safety operations in a high-volume eCommerce environment
• Demonstrated experience in crisis management and incident response

Required skills

• Knowledge of industry best practices, compliance requirements and global regulations on user safety, privacy and fraud prevention
• Data-driven decision-making and analysis of complex data sets
• Leadership, team management and communication skills
